Moving further East

Ich liebe Autobahn .. Although its a bit nuts

I didn’t know my car could do 200kph.

Anyways,

Went to Dusseldorf on Friday, left my place at around 7.45 and picked up a lad on the way. Drive was fine, we got to the Dutch border and everyone started speeding up, as in like rocket ship take off mode. I asked the Dutch guy what the speed limit was and he said ‘Oh … There is none. . I thought you knew” 30 seconds later and we were going full belt. All I was missing was some German Techno and a “No Fear” sticker on the back Window. Instead we listened to the Wolfe Tones, the Dutch guy kinda liked it but thought it was a bit weird.

Went to Dusseldorf, they drive like a shower of assholes, 2 seconds at a red light, if you haven’t gone they beep, they beep at everything, they beep if someone farts.

Got parking outside the front door of the Hotel, nice place, a bit of a weird layout in the rooms but really central.

Went for beers at that Brewery, ate too much, drank way too much.

Went to an Italian Restaurant called Molo, really nice, decent food and drinks, staff were really sound out too.

Then we went to the Alt Stadt (Old Town). This is the equivolent of Oliver Plunket street in Cork. There is LOADS of bars and clubs. Great atmosphere and you can Party till the wee hours of the morning.

Woke up in the morning with a bit of a head on me, i was sensible though, switched to coke (cola) at around 11 pm. Very unlike me

Hammered back up the Autobahn to The Hague, dropped the work lads off, picked up Una, Chris, Chris (no the other chris) and Luke then headed off to Antwerp.

There was a Christmas market on there and the lads had Gluhwein and stuff, it was pretty nice indeed.

Went back to TheHague and went out for a few pints … i was pretty shattered at that stage.

So in one day I did, Germany –> Holland –> Belgium –> Holland

Thats 320 miles … or 515 kilometeres for the Conto-Europeans

Its kinda cool !
